PRIVATE AND SEMI-PRIVATE YOGA IN WEST CORK

1-on-1 yoga instruction

The benefits of personalised yoga with private 1:1 yoga sessions are plentiful and I so welcome you to join me for a series of 1-1 yoga sessions to help you begin or deepen your practice.

1-1 classes take place at Sona Retreat on the beautiful Sheep's Head Peninsula in West Cork. Nestled between the mountains and the sea, it’s hard not to be inspired when practicing here!

You might be completely new to yoga, or you may be returning after a break. Maybe you’re working with some particular physical or emotional challenges, or you’re looking to deepen an established practice. In any case, private yoga is a fantastic way to receive support that’s designed around your individual needs.

I’ll work closely with you to create a practice that works specifically for you and your sankalpa, your intention. We’ll draw from yoga postures (asana), breathwork (pranayama), meditation techniques, chanting and yogic myth and philosophy where appropriate. This 1-1 container is a supportive space for you to build awareness of your body and mind and breath, so that you can improve physical and mental flexibility and develop a deeper connection to yourself.

Private yoga sessions are ideal for locals and visitors staying in and around West Cork, including Kilcrohane, Bantry, Durrus, Ahakista, Ballydehob, Schull, and the surrounding areas. Online classes are available also by request. Sessions can be booked as a one-off experience for €70 or as an ongoing series with a package of 5 for €300. Hope to see you soon!

Weekly group yoga classes

If you enjoy the energy of practicing alongside others, my weekly group yoga classes offer a welcoming and supportive space to move and breathe. I love taking a group class as a student, because it’s a wonderful way to experience the motivation of moving alongside others; the lower price point helps to establish a regular practice, and it’s lovely to get to enjoy yoga with others and make new friends!

My group classes are suitable for all levels, including absolute beginners and folks who’ve been practicing for years. While guidance is offered to the group as a whole, I always encourage you to respect your own body and adapt the practice to meet your needs today (not what you might have needed yesterday or last week or last year). I’d love to see you for a group class soon!

Your teacher

Hi! I’m Karen Olivia, and I am a yoga teacher, astrologer, and retreat host and I love to create spaces for self-discovery and transformation.

I have been a yoga practitioner for close to 15 years, and a teacher since 2019. I’ve completed years of study in yoga, breathwork, meditation, and tantric philosophy, studying with traditional teachers and sources in India as well as Western practitioners with a contemporary interpretation.

My teaching approach is rooted in the belief that yoga isn’t just a practice for becoming calm and relaxed, but also for embodying our wholeness and awakening the compassion and courageous action needed to care for ourselves, for each other, and for the planet we share.
